Robert and Judy Kucherepa give to Guide Dogs for the Blind (GDB) every year. Recently, they turned their annual generosity into a forever legacy by making a gift to GDB in their estate plan.

“I wouldn’t donate to another place other than Guide Dogs for the Blind,” Robert said. “They’ve given Judy the independence and life she deserves.”

Judy has a yellow Lab guide dog named Rosie, her fifth from GDB. She got her first guide dog, Lorianne, in 1993, and in the ensuing years has navigated life with guide dogs by her side, enabling her to live the life she wants to live.

Since getting her first guide dog, Judy has benefited from all the support services that Guide Dogs for the Blind provides to our clients free of charge. Among other things, she has access to a dedicated Support Center, as well as a GDB field service manager who can meet with her at home for any guide dog-related issues that need a personal touch.

Robert says Guide Dogs for the Blind has treated Judy with extraordinary care, spending extra time with her to ensure she understands and feels comfortable with what she’s learning. “A couple of times, an instructor has even flown up to help rectify situations,” Robert said. GDB is more than a dog school to Robert and Judy; it’s like home. “Guide Dogs for the Blind has done so much for Judy,” Robert said. “I’ll do whatever I can to make sure the school continues to be life-changing for others.”
