Congratulations to Chelsea Aydelott, one of our newest Guide Dog Mobility Instructors. Chelsea has officially completed her three-year GDB instructor apprenticeship that required practical, hands-on experience in training both our dogs and our clients, as well as a comprehensive academic course of study.
Chelsea grew up in Grass Valley, Calif., but now calls San Francisco her home. She attended college at University of California Santa Cruz (UCSC), and has a bachelor of science degree in marine biology and a minor in psychology. Prior to coming to GDB, Chelsea worked as an assistant marine mammal trainer at the Marine Mammal Physiology Project at UCSC; as a naturalist on whale watching and snorkeling boats for both the Pacific Whale Foundation in Maui, Hawaii, and San Juan Outfitters in San Juan Island, Wash. In her spare time, her hobbies include yoga and hiking.
